II./JG27

  This is a free website so there is only so much I can post on it. I can tell you who I am what I'm doing and how much fun it is. I am Richie and I am in II./JG27 witch is an online squad that flys the Flight Sim IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 on the Hyperlobby. IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 is the end of a searies witch started with IL-2 Sturmovik back in 2001 and if you ask me there is no other WWII Flight Sim like it out there especially for online play. To play IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 online you will need to download the "Hyperlobby". This is not a hard thing to do. Once online in the Hyperlobby you can chat with other members for help with game patches or any other advice you might need.

 After you have learned to fly by yourself you can try to go online into the Hyperlobby with real live opponents. It's best to start in one of the easy dogfight rooms then slowly work your way up to the tougher arenas. There are many of them. As you are getting more and more experienced and making new friends you may want to get involved in the "Online Wars" such as "Airforce War" or "IL2 War". This is the pinnacle of "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946" You have to know your stuff to fly in these Wars. These Online Wars always take place on historical maps, meaning that we try to recreate that battle that took place back in WWII on the correct map be it Russia, Africa, Germany, Italy, Greece or the Pacific.

 There are 229 flyable aircraft and over 300 in all in IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. There are also more than 600 ground objects to pick and choose from. One of the best and easiest ways to see what IL-2 is all about is to simply go on youtube and type in the search "IL-2". You will see many movies pop up that people have made that you can watch. Some are very could especially the ones done by the movie makers.

 Now it's December 26 2010. IL-2 1946 has gone threw quite a few what they call Mods and the Mods have made a big differnce in the game. There are two main things: Engine sounds and maps. These two improvesment make IL-2 even better than it was before with the relistic sounds and the fantastic new maps. Especially those of North Africa and the English Channel.

 On another subject the long awaited "Storm Of War:Battle Of Britain" Now renamed "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs Of Dover" looks like it's finally coming out on March 25 2011. This is the improvement on IL-2 that will start with the Battle Of Britain then carry on threw the rest of the wars years battling on all on the different theaters as IL-2 did. It will be great! Once this sim comes out it will basically take IL-2's place. I probably will change the site quite a bit when this happens. It will be sad to see IL-2 go. It will still be a fantastic game for those who don't have high end systems so I may leave some information about it on the site.

 Update. I finally got a copy of IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs Of Dover on July 19 2011. When it first came out it was let's say unfinished but as time goes by new patches are coming out and it's getting better and better. The graphics are amazing and as time goes on this sim will be fantastic I'm sure. Not too many folks are flying online yet witch is disapointing. I think they are just waiting for everything to be sorted out first with the sim first the things will turn around. People are still having a lot of fun with IL-2 mods keeps coming out for it and they have made the game all that much better every time. Ultra Packs they're called. I think there is over 300 flyable aircraft in IL-2 now with the latest Ultra Pack. AMAZING!

  Although we fly german aircraft from WWII none of us here pay any heed to nazi ideology in any way what so ever. We do however love german aircraft and have respect for the fighter pilots of the luftwaffe who the great majority of detested their own leadership. They fought on and on through six years of war some of them flying as many as 1000 combat missions. By the last year of the war they were just trying to save their towns from the bombers that the allies had to send  day after day over germany to end the war. 

  This Sim is much harder to track down in the retail stores than the more common ones like the Microsoft Flight Simulators. Your best bet is buy it online from Amazon.com or one of the online gaming stores like "Gogamer", or if you have an ebay account this is a sure way to find it.
